A mother and father were shot to death in the bedroom of their home in far west Bexar County today, and their own 19 year old son is the suspect.
Bexar County Sheriff's Detective Sgt. Raymond Pollard says Bryan Meza, 19, stormed into his parent’s bedroom at their home in the 1300 block of Oak Cask, which is right across Loop 1604 from Sea World, confronted his father, and then opened fire with a shotgun.
Fidel and Guillermo Meza were pronounced dead at the scene, their bodies covered by white sheets.
"What we believe happened is that he went into the master bedroom where the parents were, he shot the father, shot the mother, and it all took place in the bedroom," Pollard told 1200 WOAI's Michael Board.
"Both of them have been shot at least once," he said. "There are other shell casings on the floor, we don't know whether he shot into the bed, into the wall, or whatever."
Meza then wrestled with other family members, Pollard said there were 'seven or eight' members of the family at the home in a quiet middle class neighborhood. He managed to get free and ran out the door.
Pollard didn't say what prompted the bloodbath. He says a warrant is out for Meza's arrest, and the teenager is considered 'armed and dangerous.'
