After pulling the Dallas Cowboys defense out of the dismal gutter and once again placing some credibility into the team's capabilities, on Tuesday Jerry Jones gave Defensive Coordinator Rob Ryan his walking papers. Jones recently had made comments that there were to be some big chances coming . For Dallas Cowboys fans this decision perhaps will take a lot of explaining.
Fox Sports.com's Jay Glazer tries to break down the rationale of the decision and the future plans of Rob Ryan .

As of 7a.m. RG III underwent knee surgery to repair a torn lateral collateral ligament which he sustained during the playoff loss against Seattle . Questions remain as to how much damage occurred and how long recovery will take once surgery is completed.

Not a happy camper . The Lakers continue the losing tailsspin after Tuesday's game against the Houston Rockets . With Phil Jackson commenting that he has no intentions of returing to the NBA as a coach - that window pf reprieve seems permanently closed. According to Lakers Coach Mike D'Antoni ''A little more attention to detail and we'll do better.'' . Not sure if Kobe and company agree with that particular thought process. Which leaves many wondering if the team has given up on themselves.
Tonight the San Antonio Spurs take on the Los Angeles Lakers at the AT&T Center, there should be no reason why the Spurs can't walk away with a win in their pocket. But Kobe is hungry for a win as well and it would be even more satisfying for the Lakers to begin a winning streak with the first conquest over the Spurs serving homecourt.
